Cyr Wheel

Alvin, a pioneer of Cyr Wheel in Malaysia, was self trained for 3 years, regularly performing at different venues and events in the country. At this time, he mainly learned from artists he met and on the internet.

It was until meeting his first Cyr Wheel teacher - Fabio Pinna, at the circus school INAC, that his understanding and approach on cyr wheel goes into a profound level. Additionally, the influence from contemporary dance has enhanced his physicality with the wheel.

Different with the diabolo, of showing-off high technical tricks, cyr wheel has given him a significant transformation on relationship with apparatus and connection with body and presence. Which makes his cyr wheel performance genuinely more sensible and poetic.
