Alvin began learning diabolo in 2002 at the age of nine, it slowly brought him to a journey of becoming a street performer and circus artist. In high school, he was a member of the internationally recognized diabolo team "Soul D," which won the Team Category Championship at the Tokyo International Diabolo Competition in 2012. After the team disbanded, Alvin continued pursuing his dream independently.

In 2010, Alvin competed in the Taiwan PEH Cup Diabolo Competition, where he was inspired by the TPEC diabolo team and developed the ambition to train in Taiwan. Around the same time, he discovered Taiwan's street performance culture, which became his dream of performing diabolo in public spaces. After not gaining entry to TPEC and failing his first street performer license audition in 2013, he succeeded the following year and began street performing in November 2015.

After nearly two years of street performing, Alvin realised a lack of versatility in his work and began training in Cyr wheel, which over time became his main practice. In January 2018, he returned to Malaysia determined to promote street performance and Cyr wheel. The rareness of Cyr wheel brought him many performance opportunities, though he felt something was missing.
In November, he won the Artistreet competition, in which he noticed the fulfillment of artistic expression was the missing part. In 2019, he created Soul to Show, premiering in Gwangju, South Korea, and traveled to Europe, where he encountered contemporary circus and circus schools, marking the beginning of a new professional direction.

In October 2020, Alvin moved to Portugal to study Cyr wheel at INAC, completing two years of professional training. He graduated in July 2022 with his solo Soul Time and later completed a one-year intensive contemporary dance program at Oficina Zero, influencing his physical and artistic approach in Cyr wheel.
Currently based in Porto, Portugal, Alvin tours Soul to Show at street festivals across Europe every summer. His latest work, Rima, is a contemporary Cyr wheel duo with Alan Sencades, produced in partnership with Erva Daninha, and premiered in May 2025 before touring Portugal and Spain.
